we’re live.

alright. i guess now it is about time to get this baby started here. its only a fortnight to go until we launch our world tour. its kinda scary, it always seemed so long to go and now it actually is pretty close.

its been a fairly stressful time the last few months. its quite some juggling, simoultanously quitting a busy job, moving out of an apartment and trying to organise someone to take over the lease, researching necessary vaccinations, visas and insurances, finding storage space and deciding what to store and what to take. this blog needed coding and designing including all the obligatory web2 features. and finally it also is xmas. luckily our family decided a while ago not to get too tangled up anymore with pre-xmas shopping horror and focus less on presents and more on the social and food part of the festive period.

still, so far i havent really had much of an opportunity to think about the journey or even get excited about all the places we’re going to see.

our path will take us half way around the globe. the main destination on this trip is the west coast of australia. we both have been up and down the east coast before but since that side is very busy, we wanted to experience some more of the remote places this time round.

however i expect to become sentimental at some stage. its my first time in australia since my departure after finishing my university degree back in 2003. i am a bit scared of all the great memories i have of those four years of living and studying at one of the most beautiful places on earth. will i be able to cope? not being able to stay for as long as i’d like? catching up with mates i havent seen for years?
anyway. find our latest pics and our current whereabout in the middle column. herr_schaft and I are planning on posting every now and again on whats been happening so you can stay in the loop. if we dont, we either got lost or found bliss in a life without computers. hard to imagine, but whatdoyouknow.

happy xmas.
